Shortly before Easter, our Bugle Band competed at the BB Scottish Band Championships for the first time in many years.
Playing alongside a variety of pipe bands and marching bands from across Scotland, it was a great experience for band members, with a strong performance resulting in us taking home two national novice shields, plus the Glasgow Battalion bugle band trophy.
All our efforts are now focused on preparations for our 118th Annual Inspection and Display which takes place in the large hall on Friday, May 15th beginning at 7:00pm, and everyone will be made most welcome.
The evening will feature a number of items that reflect our programme of activities such as drill, bugle band, vaulting, games and fellowship, with boys currently working on all of these along with the opening and closing ceremonies.
We will be welcoming Rev. Dez Johnston, President of The Boys’ Brigade, as our Inspecting Officer, and the evening will also feature our prizegiving ceremony, with boys competing for a number of individual and squad prizes reflecting the work of the Company over the course of the year.
We are also looking forward to presenting one boy with his President’s Badge and four boys with their King’s Badges – the highest award in the Brigade – following two years of work to complete the various required elements.
Attention will then turn towards Summer Camp 2026, which takes place at Lagganlia Outdoor Centre near Aviemore from 7-10 August.
We expect to have 12 boys attending and we will be packing as much into the weekend as possible.
