Anchor Section – March 2024

During February, Anchor Boys have taken part in a number of different activities covering a host of interesting topics.

Chinese New Year offers plenty of opportunities for boys to be creative. We learned some facts about the animals that make up the Chinese Zodiac, and boys marked the Year of the Dragon by making and decorating their own dragons.

That was followed the next week by an evening making Pancake Day. This gives us a chance to explore Lent and Jesus spending 40 days and nights in the desert, as well as getting to add some tasty toppings to pancakes including icing, jam, honey, sprinkles, marshmallows and chocolate spread.

It was no coincidence that the next week we looked at why it’s important to keep our teeth clean! We played some fun games themed around teeth and toothbrushing, and learned about the sorts of foods that are good and bad for our teeth.

More activities will follow in future weeks and we’ve got one eye on the next Service for Uniformed Organisations, taking place on 17 March.
