Anchor Section – April 2023

Our Anchor Boys enjoyed the chance to join with older age groups at the Service for Uniformed Organisations earlier in the month, and they especially enjoyed the march past afterwards. Thanks go to everyone who attended.

Recent meetings on Friday nights have seen boys exploring a number of different themes with a mix of sports and games, storytelling and craft activities.

Just before the Church Parade felt like an appropriate time to look at the four nations that make up the United Kingdom. Boys had a go at designing their own flags, a few got the chance to hold the Company Colours, and during a quiz, we learned that Wales is home to the place with the longest name in the world – Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch!

Before that we had a circus-themed evening with boys making their own clown faces, and more recently we told the story of creation in the book of Genesis and enjoyed some Easter-themed activities.

We’ll resume for the final few weeks of the Anchor Boy session after the school break.
