Junior Section – Summer 2024

Another session came to a close when the boys joined with the Company Section for a very successful Inspection and Display on 17th May. Junior Section participated in a number of items during the evening, including a display of the Figure Marching routine mastered by the boys set to the classic Bee Gees track ‘You Should Be Dancing’. There was also a chance to take part in a couple of games which required a good level of audience participation!

The night concluded with the Prizegiving Ceremony where a number of boys picked up awards. Every boy achieved either perfect or regular attendance which is a great achievement.

Our congratulations go to all the boys who went home with awards with special mentions for Andrew Strachan who won the Drill Award and Isaac Neeson who won the PE Award.

Craig Maxwell collected the Best Junior Award whilst Andrew Strachan also won the overall Best Boy Award. The Best Group Award for the session went to Group Two led by Harris Miller alongside Andrew Strachan, Matthew Casey, Ethan MacLeod and Elijah Martin-McLaughlin.

Eight of our senior boys were also promoted to Company Section and we wish them well as they begin the next stage of their time within The Boys’ Brigade.

We also thank members of the congregation who came along to support the boys on the evening. The day after our Inspection was our annual trip with Anchor Boys, this year to Blair Drummond Safari Park.

We enjoyed a great day in the sunshine and between seeing lions, giraffes and chimpanzees, we had time to visit the sea lion show and enjoy the various play areas.

We will now be enjoying a relaxing summer break before resuming for Session 2024-2025 on Friday 6th September from 6.30pm in the large hall. Any boy in P4, P5 and P6 is welcome to come along for more details on joining the section or alternatively, visit www.130thglasgow.co.uk for further information.
