Company Section has a different feel to it this session with eight new recruits from Junior Section swelling our numbers and bringing down the average age.
As a result it’s been a busy time as boys get settled in and we begin working on new projects that will take shape in the months ahead.
We’ve got four boys beginning work on our highest award, now called the King’s Badge for the first time since George VI was on the throne, and another four boys looking to earn their President’s Badge in the coming months.
Our Bugle Band is also a key focus, and we’re looking to introduce a large number of our boys to the bugle and the snare drum with the aim of strengthening the band during the session.
However, we’ve already enjoyed one major highlight for the session, when a group of boys and leaders travelled south to the Etihad Stadium to watch Manchester City play Brentford.
It was a great day and a good match with not even a delay on the trip home able to dampen our spirits. The football theme continued with the District Five-a-side Football Competition taking place at Scotstoun Leisure Centre the following week.
More activities will follow throughout the coming weeks and months.
