We are now into the final few weeks of the Anchor Boys session having resumed after the Easter holidays.
Our first Friday back featured a farmyard theme, with boys learning about different animals, and also hearing the parable of the lost sheep, which included searching the church for a lost sheep and taking part in a sheep craft activity involving a lot of cotton wool.
The theme was also fitting as our end-of-session day-trip this year will be to Almond Valley Heritage Park near Livingston, which doubles as a working farm. Boys are already excited about the trip and we’re expecting a good turnout.
We’ll be exploring different themes in future weeks and we’ll bring the session to a close with a short prizegiving ceremony on 12 May where we’ll recognise the achievements of boys over the course of the year.
In particular, we’ll also be promoting a large number of boys to Junior Section. This means we’ll have plenty of room for new members as we enter 2023-24 but in the meantime we’ll recharge our batteries over the summer.
