The session is now in full swing and our new members in the section have settled well. Our youngest boys have now started working towards the bronze badge, with our older boys also starting to complete their achievement awards with the aim of gaining their silver and gold badges.
Recent activities enjoyed by the boys include making empire biscuits and learning how to play kurling – an indoor variation on the ice-based sport!
At the end of the month we also held our annual fancy dress Halloween party and there was a fun mix of games as well as a great range of spooky attire from everyone.
Looking ahead, November sees our first uniformed organisations’ service and parade of the session, held on Remembrance Sunday on November 13. This is an important event for Junior Section, and we’ll also be hoping for good weather for the march past after the service.
Finally, our annual sledging trip with our Anchor Section will also be held in the coming weeks, with a visit planned to the indoor snow slope at Braehead.
