Company Section April 2018
Thanks go to everyone who braved the snow to attend the Service for Uniformed Organisations held at the Church on 18th March.
The conditions meant our numbers were slightly lower than would normally be the case, but we were pleased that enough of the snow melted to allow for the march past to take place.
The service was one of a number of events which have taken place as we approach the Easter Holidays.
Early in March, boys competed at the District Tenpin Bowling Competition, and the final such event of the session is the District Badminton Competition at Scotstoun, which was rearranged having been postponed in February due to the Beast from the East.
Our most senior boys in the Company were hoping for some better weather ahead of attending their Queen’s Badge Residential Course at Auchengillan Outdoor Centre from March 23rd to 25th.
Lewis Grant, Varnit Gupta, Alistair Meldrum, Dhruv Shah and Fergus Watson recently finished work on the Queen’s Badge record books, qualifying them for the course which involves a series of indoor and outdoor activities aimed at building various skills such as leadership, teamwork and communication.
The boys hope to be awarded their badges at our 113th Annual Inspection and Display, which will take place in the large hall on Friday, 18th May, beginning at 7pm. Everyone who attends will be made most welcome.
