About Us

The 130th Glasgow Company, The Boys' Brigade is a youth organisation based in Broomhill in the west end of Glasgow, Scotland. Our three age sections all meet on Friday nights during school term time and membership is open to boys between the ages of 5 and 18. Each section runs a packed but varied programme of activities and events that is not only energetic but challenging and enjoyable.

Thanks go to everyone who attended the Remembrance Sunday service on November 12th.

Church parades are always important occasions for the Company, and we were pleased that the weather stayed dry for the march past. A special mention goes to Lieutenant Stewart Gray for playing Last Post and Reveille either side of the two minutes’ silence.

With Christmas fast-approaching there are a number of Company events and competitions taking place.

Earlier in November, boys took part in the District Lazer Planet Competition at Scotkart in Clydebank, and also competed in the Juniors’ and Seniors’ Challenge, a District competition which sees boys completing a series of physical and mental challenges within their own companies, with the results being compared with other companies in the area.

The next event is the District Go-Karting Competition, due to take place in January, while the District Drill Competition, this year featuring a particularly complicated series of manoeuvres, is likely to be held in the New Year as well.

We expect to round off activities for this year with our traditional Christmas Fancy Dress Party on Friday, December 15th, and will resume in the New Year on Friday, January 5th.

We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
